October 2008 Momentum Interview
Constance Tillotson
Professional Actress, Writer, Director, Producer &
National Vice Chair of SAG Conservatory Youth Division

Constance is a passionate, living, breathing testament to the theory of attraction.  She took her studio from 10 to 120 actors in two years with no marketing whatsoever.  She is firmly grounded and in touch with “who” she is which makes her irresistibly attractive.  I had the pleasure of chatting with her for almost an hour and as well as some wonderful insight into attraction she also shared some great tips on staying present and focused while living a fulfilling life.

Constance shared “life is short, too short to hesitate in any moment.  If you do the energy will stop in it’s tracks.”  So in Constance own words read on if you are ready to “BRING IT ON!” “I try to make life very simple.  You either choose to do something or you choose not to.  There are no excuses.

Understanding why we make our decisions will help us become more powerful in making stronger more positive decisions.

In order to get to the place of wanting to know what makes us tick we have to be at a place where we can accept responsibility for all of our actions.  That’s hard for some people to do but once you do life becomes so much easier”.

What does Momentum mean to you?   Momentum means building powerful energy that flows from present decisions. The abundance of my future is in direct connection to my daily choices. I want my future to be grand; therefore, my daily choices must be too. Sometimes I feel the energy of my momentum is so large I have to remind myself to go with the flow and not be overwhelmed by it. Any hesitation will stop momentum in its tracks. So if I am ever feeling a fear or hesitancy I immediately say to the Universe "BRING IT ON! I am ready for all of it." Our daily choices sets our future in motion: Forever begins today.

How do you keep your momentum going?   I keep momentum going by living in the present moment. By keeping my mind as still as possible. By DECIDING what I want. I do not try anything instead I decide to do something. Decide is just an underrated word as it carries steadfast power. I have gratitude and recognize serendipitous events and people who cross my path. I keep a daily log as scientific proof of my manifestations. I believe anything is possible once the decision has been made.

Tips to Keep Momentum Going:

1.    Being present in the moment.  “If you are constantly living in your future you will never gain momentum”.

a.    Listen

b.    Keep your mind as silent as possible

c.    “Whatever is coming out of my mouth must be connected to a higher source, instead of my brain which is not a higher source”.

d.    “Getting out of my own ego of believing that what I have to say is more important than what the other person has to say”.

2.    Deciding to “Kick ASS”.  “Making the decision just puts that energy out into the universe”.

3.    “Be aware of any negative thoughts as well as negative actions”.

Give us the dime tour of Constance Tillotson:   I have been blessed with the gift of connectedness to children. We bond on a spiritual level. Through the tools of acting I am able to instill the understanding of taking responsibility for every action. That life is really simple: you either chose to do something or chose not to. There is no right or wrong or judgments upon ones self. It is within the self examination of ones choices that can teach what fears could be causing these choices and how to heal those fears, that are usually based in untruths, so that then different choices can be made rendering different outcomes. I am very unconventional in all that I do. I gravitate to the road less traveled. I have always been connected to my inner truth feeling very comfortable not to conform to social norms. Even when I was little I never wanted to have my own child. Now I see that it was because my path was going to take me on the plight of raising and instilling greatness in 1000's of them. I feel I am doing my part to create a courageous, self respective, socially aware, compassionate new generation.

What are the top three priorities for you?   My top three priorities are a double espresso every morning. Laughter and Love.  And always keeping my word.

Do you consider yourself successful?  As long as I live every day to its fullest I consider myself a success.

How would you define success?   I define success as living ones life's purpose. Live to be undeniable at your craft. Whatever that craft is. It could be a homemaker, doctor, sanitation worker. If you do your job with focus, drive and challenge yourself to do something a little better every day. That is a success. Integrity in work and in personal relationships.

What do you attribute your success to?   My success has come because years ago I surrendered to the Universe "Please show me my purpose, whatever it is I will accept it and to my very best at it." At first, I would give provisos like, well I hope it isn't flipping burgers, so I would just get bits and pieces of it, until one day I said "Whatever it is, I will accept it with humility and grace." At that time I would have never dreamed I would be guiding child actors. It all just fell into my lap. I made the decision that whenever something  unsolicited comes my way if my heart feels it is so right even if to my head it feels incongruous, I would accept it and just go in it's flow. One of the finest decisions I have ever made. Ones life becomes so much easier when you trust the Universe enough to just let go, enjoy the ride and remember that time always has the way of writing the perfect ending.

What do you love about what you do?   I LOVE every, single second of being with my young actors. I love helping them become self-realized at such a young age. I always felt the way I do now but had no adult to help me to cultivate it. I feel I am giving to them what I needed at their age. And in doing so I can let go of any negative feelings from my childhood as I see I needed to go through what I went through because it laid the foundation of my current deep understanding I have for my actors. Years ago did a play with an actor friend of mine, at the time he owned a children's acting school. He badgered me to come in and teach a class. I always said no because I was too busy, but really my choice was made because I had NO desire to do so. Finally, he was in a bind and really needed me to fill in for him because he needed to leave town. I agreed, as only a favor for a friend. My intention was to fill in for the two hours and leave to continue with my life! When I walked onto the stage and looked at the actors I had the instant epiphany that every choice I had made in my ENTIRE life had led me to the moment of standing before them. Worlds collided. Mine with my life's greatest purpose.

How do you express your creativity in life and work?   My very first word spoken was Why? It is still the word I most use, beside fabulous of course. My curiosity is never-ending. I am very present and work to prevent my mind from rehashing the past or thinking about a future that is not here yet. The best creativity, I find, is when I can connect in the present with another present person, positive ideas and abundance flows. I feel very creative when I travel and have traveled alone to many places in the world including Morocco, Italy and Egypt. Had always wanted to see the pyramids so I flew in on New Year's Eve and rung in the New Year riding a camel at the Sphinx.

How do you fill your creative well so that you don’t’ burn out or run out of ideas?   When I am feeling the need to refuel I retreat to my enchanted cottage to rest, write read watch movies. Or I take a plane somewhere far.

What’s the number one tip/suggestion you would like to share?   Make decisions that are based in strength not fear. Even before you get out of bed in the morning make the declaration you are going to create a very successful day full of positive abundance. Have gratitude. Stay present so you can witness the magic that is your life.
